Do the Write Thing

All across America, students are rising to the challenge of doing something to end youth violence.  Montana’s Do the Write Thing Challenge is a violence prevention program that allows middle school students an opportunity to examine the impact on their lives and to communicate in written form what they think should be done to reduce youth violence. By encouraging students to make personal commitments to do something about the problem, the program ultimately seeks to give them the opportunity to break the cycles of violence in their homes, schools, and neighborhoods. Do the Write Thing is an initiative of the National Campaign to Stop Violence.

The National Coalition to Stop Violence (NCSV) and Blue Cadillac Music have entered into an agreement regarding the song “Hope is Just Ahead,” recorded by Billy Ray Cyrus and Dionne Warwick. The single communicates a non-political, non-partisan message about violence in our country. In an effort to support NCSV and its mission to reduce violence and its impact on the lives of our youth, Blue Cadillac Records will donate a portion of its net from this single to NCSV, nearly $0.10 per download to be shared between the national office and the Do the Write Thing participating sites. By downloading “Hope is Just Ahead” you can support the NCSV and the Montana Do the Write Thing Challenge.
